Open Architectural System

(OAS)

New computer software, based on open design system, is capable to produce unlimited number of custom designs. It represents the next substantial step in urban planing, architecture and interior design, consolidates or blends structural, architectural and interior elements into one set of core entities. The entire system is open to limitless design possibilities but entirely dependent on a discontinuous grid pattern. It is similar to a Music System, where with note lines (discontinuous grid) and the notes (new construction and connection elements) it is possible to compose the simple school song as well as the symphony. The system can be used for the design of small shelters/news stands (80 S.F.) wide variety of residential units (single houses, urban developments etc.) all the way to exceptional contemporary castles (40,000 S.F.). In addition, the system can be expanded introducing new compatible elements; building the sites and stacking them vertically – URBAN SHELVES – where the penthouse conditions will be applied to the entire building (up to 8,000,000 S.F.).

Complete design process will be reduced to pure creative task. All elements are predefined and generated by computer software, text included – no drafting or developing details.

The new ways of connection of the elements make the redesign or modification possibilities as an integral part of the actual object during the usable life span including the elegant demolition option – eradicating one of the most difficult peculiarities of the construction industry – DEAD PHYSICAL STRUCTURES.

The SYSTEM is rendering the new concept of the architecture and the construction industry by integrating them into a complex organizational entity which will be capable to deal with the facts of today’s world where 80% of the world construction fond is below the minimum of the required standards. More than one billion of people are without a place to live, so new more efficient ways of designing and constructing are necessary. There is no danger of overproduction or market saturation. The system should find its place as a part of the architecture and construction industry – not to replace them. The simplicity of the system, combined with the benefits of mass-production and substantial reduction of design and construction time will cut the prices of quality finished objects by min. 50%. The System can be applied globally.

In addition, the system can be expanded introducing new compatible elements; building the sites and stacking them vertically – URBAN SHELVES – where the penthouse conditions will be applied to the entire building:

 

APPENDIX

Up to this point, complete development of OAS is a single man operation. I have spent the last 25-30 years of my life, since my school years, gradually improving and defining the extent of the system; no-compromise design efforts are ready to be tested in real world conditions. At the same time, I have had full time positions with prominent architectural firms working on large-scale projects in order to stay in contact with the reality of the architecture – not to slip into destructive and unreal futuristic concepts.

I designed my own house with the system using conventional materials; it is so clean looking, functional and powerful. My intention is to develop the next, substantial and possible step in the ARCHITECTURE, bringing it to the level of modern industries and beyond – it is ready now.
